About More Fire Glass Studio

Founded in 1998 by sculptor and glass artist Elizabeth Lyons, More Fire Glass Studio is a women-owned, working glassblowing studio located in Rochester, New York. The studio was born out of Lyons’s vision to create a space where traditional glassblowing techniques could be used to explore both fine art and functional design—with a deep reverence for form, color, and craftsmanship.

At the heart of More Fire is a collaborative process between Lyons and glass artist Jennifer Schinzing, who joined the studio in its early years. Together, they have cultivated a practice rooted in technical excellence, playful experimentation, and enduring artistry. Their work draws inspiration from natural forms, historical glass, and architectural ornamentation—resulting in a distinctive collection of handmade pieces that are both sculptural and practical.

The studio produces a wide range of hand-blown glass objects, including votives, vessels, vases, and wall sculpture, as well as exclusive custom commissions for residential and commercial interiors. Elizabeth Lyons is known for her one-of-a-kind chandeliers and large-scale sculptural installations, created in close collaboration with designers, architects, and collectors. These bespoke works transform space through light, scale, and craftsmanship—each one tailored to its environment and fully handmade in the Rochester studio.

The 4,000-square-foot studio and gallery includes a fully equipped hot shop, where Lyons and Schinzing continue to create new work year-round.

Over the past two decades, More Fire has become a respected presence in the American glass community. Its work has been featured in exhibitions, galleries, and private collections across the country, as well as in publications such as Architectural Digest and The New York Times. The studio’s signature aesthetic—bold yet refined, timeless yet contemporary—makes its work equally at home in modern interiors, historic spaces, and museum settings.

As a studio, More Fire is committed to craftsmanship, artistic integrity, and the enduring beauty of hand-blown glass. Whether creating intimate giftable pieces or monumental custom installations, Lyons and Schinzing remain devoted to celebrating the possibilities of molten glass—one piece at a time.
