More Fire Glass Studio presents Imaging Biodiversity: New Moth Prints by Joseph Scheer, an exhibition celebrating the extraordinary beauty and diversity of moths. Scheer’s large-scale digital prints capture these nocturnal creatures in astonishing detail, transforming scientific observation into luminous works of art.
Featured in the show is the original Luna Moth print pictured on the United States Postal Service’s recently released stamp.
“As an artist I am attracted to moths not only because they are amazing and beautiful, but also because of their imagery and symbolism,” says Scheer. “They are mostly creatures of the night... attracted to light, to the flame—a powerful metaphor.”
Scheer adds, “Imaging Biodiversity is about living in the world in a particularly intense way… I believe it is highly critical to promote our respect for, and redefine our relationship to, the many living things on our planet.”
